Gift Giving MADE EASY!
Let us take the hassle out of creating the perfect gift for anyone, even teetotalers!
Not only on the ‘non alcoholic wine’ front, but it’s almost a ‘given’ your gift will never be drunk … far too precious and unique!!!
The story of the customised wine label…
The wine label journeys through a descriptive narrative, rich in adjectives and whimsical prose. As your tongue slips out and tickles your lips you are reminded of a time, a place, an event.
Thoughts flood your consciousness and you realise the words reflect a lost love, a fine friend.
The game is on … Jack is rich and red (stockbroker extraordinaire and lover of too much port); Julia is soft and fruity (gone to pot and a bit silly); Paul is robust and smooth (carries extra weight but is a killer with the ladies) and Jo has a complex palate (talks too much).
And the Customised Wine Label is born!
5 simple steps to creating the perfect and always welcome gift…
- Choose a wine variety you know your recipient loves or one that suits their character.
- Buy a clean skin of the wine variety from a local bottle shop or cellar door if you live close to a vineyard. (Clean skin wines are wines without labels. All wine manufactures produce them, some are available from select bottle shops, and you can always buy them from cellar doors. If you can’t get hold of one, just buy a labelled wine and soak the label off in soapy water).
- Pay for your label by clicking one of the link choices below.
- After payment, you’ll be directed to a briefing form where you’ll be able to tell us all you can about the recipient of the customised bottle of wine.
- Submit the form and let us work our magic to create the perfect customised wine label … for you for your perfect gift!

Testimonials
I wanted a gift for my clients (I only have 10) for Christmas but didn’t want to spend a lot of money. I also wanted something unique, that they wouldn’t forget in a hurry. I bought a dozen bottles of clean skin from a local vineyard at $3.99 each, had a label designed around my business (ironing) and wrapped the wines in Christmas style. My clients absolutely loved them. They said they’ll never open them; they’ll just keep them as a souvenir. This will now be my standard Christmas gift for all my home based businesses. (See sample below) Louisa
I wanted to give my footy team something at the end of the season as a reward for the great effort they’d put in. As they were all beer drinkers, wine wasn’t really an option, but I thought, if you can remove the label from a wine bottle, maybe you can do the same for a beer bottle. So I bought a few slabs, had a small label designed around the teams nuances and gave each bloke a half dozen bottles. It’s the first time ever I’ve given blokes beer they haven’t wanted to open. It was fabulous; they thought it was a real hoot. Max
I am a recipient of a customised bottle of wine. My sister gave me one for my birthday last year and the copy on the label was me to a tee. Whenever wrote it couldn’t have been more spot on about my personality, temperament and character. I will never open the wine, it’s too fabulous, and I’ll be using this service for my friend’s and family’s birthdays this year. What a great idea. Catherine
Here are some other ideas for using customised wine labels…
- Special Birthday! For a 21st, 30th, 40th 50th etc, have a label designed that reflects the character of the person you’re buying for. Something that tells a story about their life, work, family, hobbies or whatever aspect of their character that stands out.
- Client Gifts! Looking for something inexpensive yet very personalised to give to your clients for Christmas or to say thank you for their custom. Let us design a label that reflects your quality service.
- Club Trophies! If you give prizes to club members for their efforts say for a sporting event etc, have some club wine labels designed that reflect the purpose of the club and it’s members.
- Get a Message Across! Ever had a friend, family member, or colleague whom you’ve been trying to tell something to but they’re just not getting it. Give them a personalised bottle of wine and incorporate the message in the witty copy we’ll write for you based on your brief.
- Employees Christmas Gift! You know you should give something to acknowledge their effort throughout the year but you don’t want to make too much of it or spend a lot on it. Why not create a wine label about your company or even your management style. They’ll appreciate the thought.
The options are only limited by your imagination and the great thing about clean-skins – they’re generally half the price of a labelled bottle, so something that costs very little can look very swish indeed!
And as you’ve read from the testimonials, it doesn’t have to be wine it could be any beverage. And more often than not, the recipient will never open the bottle, so the wine, beer or whatever you choose to stick the label on to, doesn’t even have to be top quality. Louisa’s bottles only cost $3.99 each.
So for the cost of the label and the wine, her gifts were less than $10 each.

Tracey Lee Cooper is ‘Customised Wine Labels’ own graphic designer . Skilled in all aspects of design and copy writing (she started her career as a journalist), Tracey will be the one who transforms take your brief into something truly amazing. Here are a couple of samples of her work.
| The Brief Wine: Chardonnay Wine Descriptive Words: acidic, bitter; charming; peppery; sweet. Actual Description Supplied: This wine is for my brother who has had a pretty rough trot lately and is a very serious and angry man as a result. He can be abusive and rude at times, which saddens me. I want to say that while others may see him one way, I still remember the generous and loving boy I grew up with and that I’m not going to give up on him. The Result |
| The Brief Wine: Chardonnay Wine Descriptive Words: depth; direct; full bodied; sweet; Actual Description Supplied: This wine is about me so it’s hard to be objective. I am an ironing lady and this wine is for my clients as a thank you Christmas gift (for cash in hand work!!). I want it to be amusing. I’m a big girl with a good heart. People say I’m a know-all (in a good way) and I like to talk a lot (I seem to find plenty who’ll listen though). My friends think I’m a bit long winded (not sure I should say that!!). I think I’m a fun person, always professional but not stuffy. My favourite colour is pink. The Result |

Pre-designed Wine Labels
- These labels are generically designed with the following dimensions:
- Front 65mm width x 120mm height; Back 55mm width x 65mm height.
- These are fairly typical of general commercial labels and are small enough to fit almost any bottle.
- These will be supplied on a single A4 sheet with crop marks for front and back.
Custom Designed Wine Labels
- These labels can be any size you wish, but it’s advisable that you measure the bottle and supply dimensions if you are going to divert from the recommended dimensions:
- Front 65mm width x 120mm height; Back 55mm width x 65mm height.
- You may also request a single label (see samples) or a front and back similar to the pre-designed labels.
- These will be supplied on a single A4 sheet with crop marks for the front and back (if applicable).
Avery Labels
- Any single A4 (one to a page) Avery Label can be used for these, however, we suggest printing on a ‘water resistant’ label for durability (and the fact they may be fridged).
- Avery make a heavy duty durable label: J4776 (Inkjet) L7067 (Laser).
- They are more durable than a normal paper label; are oil and dirt resistant, splash proof, tear proof and unaffected by temperature changes between -20 to + 80°C; UV-resistant, water-resistant and weatherproof;
- Available for laser and colour laser as well as inkjet printers.
