• Choose a wine variety you know your recipient loves or one that suits their character.
• Buy a clean skin of the wine variety from a local bottle shop or cellar door if you live close to a vineyard. (Clean skin wines are wines without labels. All wine manufactures produce them, some are available from select bottle shops, and you can always buy them from cellar doors. If you can’t get hold of one, just buy a labelled wine and soak the label off in soapy water).

The Brief Wine: Chardonnay Wine Descriptive Words: acidic, bitter; charming; peppery; sweet. Actual Description Supplied: This wine is for my brother who has had a pretty rough trot lately and is a very serious and angry man as a result. He can be abusive and rude at times, which saddens me. I want to say that while others may see him one way, I still remember the generous and loving boy I grew up with and that I’m not going to give up on him.   The Result Wine Title: The Jon Lucus Wine Description: This austere wine packs quite a punch.
